Bracewell was recognized by the Houston Bar Association and the Harris County judiciary for providing "outstanding pro bono legal service in 2009." The firm was presented with the 2010 Harris County Bench Bar Pro Bono award in the large firm category in May of 2010 at the Harris County Bench Bar Awards Ceremony and Luncheon. These include health care initiatives, arts organizations, homeless shelters, youth organizations, and educational initiatives. For example, Bracewell has previous or current involvement with the following: Houston Symphony, American Heart Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Yellowstone Academy, Junior League of Houston, Concert for Life AIDS Benefit, and Asian Pacific Interest Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Bracewell Partner Martin Hunt is a member of the Board of Directors at the British American
Foundation of Texas (BAFTX). Previously, Mr. Hunt served for two years as president of the British American Business Council (BABC) in Houston and served for several years as a director of that organization. Two other partners of the firm have also served as president of BABC and it was Bracewell that filed the formation documents of BABC with the Texas Secretary of State. Over the years, the firm has committed significant funds to the BABC as a regular sponsor. The firm's commitment to the British community in Houston is also shown by the fact that its chairman, Pat Oxford, has served as honorary legal adviser to the last three British Consul-Generals. Mr. Hunt's practice focuses on counseling UK companies that have businesses in the United States, and U.S. companies that do business in the UK, on
transactions, key contracts, significant acquisitions and mergers, and the potential antitrust issues that arise from these activities. His involvement with BAFTX has been a catalyst for business relationships
between the Houston and UK communities. Recently, Bracewell sponsored a $3,000 scholarship through
BAFTX to help further the organization's goals to support education. Named the Bracewell & Giuliani
Undergraduate Award, the scholarship was presented at BAFTX's annual gala to an undergraduate
student from Texas A&M University. The firm was heavily involved when Houston honoured the UK as
part of the Houston International Festival, including supporting and welcoming artists that were
performing during that festival. As well, the firm has been heavily involved in organising the various
BABC/BAFTX galas over the years, including providing its named partner, Rudy Giuliani, as a speaker at
the most recent gala. Lastly, the firm has had an office in London for over 35 years and continues to
employ quality professionals in that office.
