Following the Annual General Meeting on 20 March, the British-American Business Council Houston is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the board of directors. Board members serve on a voluntary basis for three year terms.

Mark Anderson - MANAGING DIRECTOR, UHY ADVISORS TX, LLC

Mark has more than 24 years of experience (15 years with “Big 4” firms) serving international public and private companies in the energy sector, primarily oilfield services and power generation; and in the manufacturing  and distribution and chemicals sectors.
His experience auditing publicly-traded companies makes him an indispensable advisor to enterprises of all sizes.  Mark has helped numerous clients prepare for milestone events in their corporate lives, including injections of private equity funds, complex financing transactions, and going public on U.S. and foreign exchanges.  

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
•Leads the firm’s Power Generation, and Oilfield Services sectors and has served over 20 SEC registrants in the energy industry, including numerous companies through the IPO process.
•Mark’s professional tenure includes serving public and privately held companies with significant experience with international businesses and audit engagements;  he is fluent in Italian, German, and English.
•His advisory consulting services experience includes business acquisitions, combinations and in-depth due diligence; initial and secondary equity and debt offerings; and litigation support. Mark led  the Texas audit practice from 2005 to 2011 and served on the firm’s National Executive Committee and Management Committee from 2007 to 2011.

Huw Rothwell - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, MICHAEL PAGE INTERNATIONAL

Huw Rothwell is the Executive Director of Michael Page International - South Region (USA) based in Houston, TX where he is responsible for spearheading the growth of the region. In Houston we have specialist recruitment teams covering Oil & Gas Technical; Engineering; Financial Services; Finance & Accounting; Legal; Human Resources; Procurement; Supply Chain and Sales & Marketing disciplines on both a permanent & temporary basis.

Huw joined Michael Page International in the UK in 1998 before transferring to the United States in 2001 to assist in developing the New York City Finance & Accounting recruitment business. In 2003 he was promoted to set up a new regional office in Stamford covering all of Connecticut & Westchester County. In 2005 he was promoted to Director and gained responsibility for the New England Region with a number of teams in Stamford and Boston. In 2006 he was promoted to Executive Director and was given the added challenge of launching a brand new Sales & Marketing Recruitment business in the US. In 2007 Huw assumed responsibility for driving the growth of our Human Resources recruitment business across the East Coast offices. In 2008 Huw was tasked with the launch & growth of the Legal recruitment business, a position he held until February 2011 when he was promoted into a new role of Executive Director – South Region (USA).  

Prior to joining Michael Page International, Huw graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1991 and spent the next 7 years as an Infantry Officer in the British Army, reaching the rank of Captain.
