British-American Business Council Houston
More than just business...and British

Scottish Rugby Union
The Scottish Rugby team will be touring North America in June/July 2014. They will play games in the USA and Canada. At this time, it has not been decided which city will host the game against the USA Eagles.

We write to ask whether having the game in Houston is something your organization would support and also whether playing the game in Houston would provide opportunities which would be mutually beneficial to your organization and to rugby.

Houston has already proved that it can support international rugby, with the three highest attended games ever played in the USA, all having taken place in Houston – South Africa, Italy and Ireland.

We believe that Houston is a strong contender to host this game. We also believe that, as Houston is the US base for so many Scottish companies, any interest shown by the business community would help bring the game here.

If the game is played in Houston the venue would also have to be decided. The last two games have been played at the Houston Dynamo stadium. Although an ideal size for such a game, lack of corporate hospitality facilities and the outside temperature are two drawbacks. The use of Reliant Stadium (a much larger stadium and home to the Houston Texans  is a bigger financial risk, but has many advantages such as air conditioning and the availability of numerous hospitality suites which may be of interest to you. Again, if we know that the Scottish business community has an interest in this event, it may help in making the decision on the venue.

We would ask you to complete an online survey regarding this event at
