NEW YORK, December 13, 2016 – Singapore Airlines will treat passengers departing from Houston Intercontinental Airport to an upgrade to the industry’s newest aircraft when it launches Airbus A350-900 equipment on flights to Manchester and Singapore, from 17 January, 2017.  In addition to its status as the world’s most technologically advanced aircraft, SIA’s A350 will also introduce the carrier’s Premium Economy cabin to the Houston market for the first time, as well as updated Business and Economy Class cabins and the company’s newest inflight entertainment system. 

New Seating, Dining, Entertainment Options

SIA’s new A350-900 aircraft will introduce a 24-seat Premium Economy cabin on the route, as well as 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 187 in Economy.  The new Premium Economy cabin features leather seating arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration, a wider seat with 38 inches of pitch (32 inches in Economy Class), larger (11 inch) entertainment screens, active noise-cancellation headphones, personal care kits, a free flow of Champagne and the ability to pre-order meals up to 24 hours before flight departure.

Travel In Premium Economy Style – For Less

To celebrate the debut of new Premium Economy service to Houston, SIA is introducing special, round-trip promotional fares from $1299 to Manchester and $1399 to Singapore, Bali, Bangkok and a range of Southeast Asian destinations, including all taxes, fees and surcharges.  These introductory fares are available from 14 December 2016 through 31 January 2017, for travel between 17 January and 31 March, 2017.  Premium Economy fare also earn a 10 percent mileage bonus within SIA’s KrisFlyer loyalty program.  Terms and conditions apply.  Visit www.singaporeair.com for full details and to book.

The End of Jet Lag?

SIA’s A350 is equipped with advanced airflow management systems that replace cabin air every two minutes, as well as sophisticated new LED lighting options to promote enhanced sleep during flight.   The aircraft is also pressurized to a lower altitude, and features higher humidity levels, larger windows and higher ceilings, all working together to create a more restful, spacious environment to help passengers combat the symptoms of jet lag.
