Turner & Townsend

Global programme management and construction consultancy, Turner & Townsend, has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

This is the third time the company has been crowned with the award in just over a decade.

Since its previous wins in 2003 and 2009 Turner & Townsend has defied volatile market conditions, rapidly growing its profits in the UK and overseas. In just eleven years the company’s turnover has increased by over 490% - from £61m in 2003 to a forecast £360m in the financial year ending 30 April 2014.

The team has also expanded exponentially in that time, with the workforce trebling from 1,128 to 3,609.

A total of 43 new offices have been established in the last ten years alone, with the company now operating in 130 countries.

The company saw sustained global growth and financial stability throughout the recession, and overseas markets now account for 55% of the company’s total turnover.

Vincent Clancy, CEO at Turner & Townsend, commented:

“Globally, we continue to expand our footprint, while continuing to set the pace in the UK industry - where we have achieved tremendous results.

“Our people are vital to our business and this award is testament to the team’s continued efforts and the partnerships formed with our clients.”

Turner & Townsend has a comprehensive graduate and trainee programme to ensure it continues to attract and mobilise the best skills in the industry. It also continues to attract the best talent, and in the last 12 months Turner & Townsend has brought in more than 259 senior people in the UK. Through its global mobility programme, the consultancy makes the most of its resources, giving staff the opportunity to work on exciting projects in UK and across the globe.
