Burnley have offered a trial to 24 year old Houston Dynamo midfielder, Stuart Holden and he has agreed to come over the pond.
Dynamo chief operating officer Chris Canetti told FOX 26 Sports:
'Stuart is going on trial with Burnley, a club in the English Premier League. What that means is he will train with Burnley and play in some of their reserve games and the team will then decide if it wants to sign Stuart.'
Holden is a USA international born in Aberdeen, Scotland and he holds a British passport so he would not need a work permit to come and play in England. The player, who was briefly on Sunderland`s books in 2005 before returning to the US to sign for MSL side,Houston Dynamo is currently out of contract and is understood to have pursued several options in the UK including clubs in Scotland.
Editor's note: Stuart Holden is the son of the late, Brian Holden, a former British-American Business Council Houston board member, and his wife Moira who has volunteered on past BABC galas.
