Sr. Political Analyst
CNN

William Schneider, a leading U.S. political commentator, is the Hirst Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University and the Cable News Network's senior political analyst. He is also a contributing editor to National Journal and The Atlantic Monthly.

Schneider has been labeled ``the nation's electionmeister'' by The Washington Times and ``the Aristotle of American politics'' by The Boston Globe. Campaigns and Elections Magazine called him ``the most consistently intelligent analyst on television.'' Schneider has been named one of the fifty most influential Washington journalists by Washingtonian Magazine. He was a member of the CNN political team that was awarded an Emmy for its 2006 election coverage and a Peabody for its 2008 coverage.

In 2003, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University awarded Schneider its Centennial Medal for contributions to society. In 2001, he received the Julian P. Kanter Award for Excellence in Television from the American Association of Political Consultants. He is also the recipient of the Brandeis University Pride Award and the Alumni Achievement Award.

In 2009, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems presented Schneider with a one-time award ``for his extensive coverage and keen insight of the 2008 United States presidential elections . . . showcasing democracy in action'' to the world.

Schneider received his B.A. from Brandeis University and his Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University, where he subsequently taught in the Department of Government. From 1990 through 1995, he was the Speaker Thomas P. O'Neill Jr. Visiting Professor of American Politics at Boston College. In 2002, he was the Fred and Rita Richman Distinguished Visiting Professor at Brandeis University. He received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Brandeis University in 2008.

William Schneider is co-author, with Seymour Martin Lipset, of The Confidence Gap: Business, Labor and Government in the Public Mind. His columns appear regularly in National Journal. He has also written extensively on politics and public opinion for The Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, The Atlantic Monthly, The Washington Post and other publications.

Currently, Schneider is writing his forthcoming book, "How the People Rule America (And Why They Don’t Believe It)", which is scheduled to be published by Simon & Schuster in late 2011.

Mistress of Ceremonies:

Deborah Duncan is well versed in the talk show genre having hosted both television and radio talk shows that relied on her versatility, quick-wittedness and being in tune with what Houstonians want to know.

"We are thrilled to have someone as well known and loved as Deborah take on this role," said KHOU General Manager Susan McEldoon, "She has the right mix of energy, passion and experience for the job. "

"There are so many untold stories that don't fit into a newscast," says Duncan, "this is a great venue for celebrating Houston's heart and at the same time giving our business community another avenue to tell us what they do. "

Duncan has been a news anchor with KHOU since December of 2002. She is a graduate of the University of Texas and began her career at the CBS station in Austin. She was co-host of Good Morning Texas from 1994-1997 at KHOU's sister station WFAA. Deborah has also worked for Lifetime Television and ABC. While at ABC she hosted the Debra Duncan show from 1998-2002. Deborah is the recipient of many local and national awards for television excellence in addition to recognition for community service.
