  • Ed heads up Wood Mackenzie’s Macroeconomics Team, responsible for developing and maintaining Wood Mackenzie’s global macroeconomic outlook. This outlook underpins all Wood Mackenzie demand models. Based in North America, Europe, and Asia the team forecast GDP, industrial production, inflation, exchange rates and demographics for all major economies. The Macroeconomics Team also forecast commodity intensive sectors such as auto’s and construction, and provide in-depth analysis of China on a provincial basis.

  • Prior to Wood Mackenzie, Ed was Head of Econometrics at CRU in London where his team developed price forecasting econometric models for base metals and steel. Before moving into commodities, Ed held Senior Economist positions at HM Treasury and the UK Debt Management Office. Ed also served as an Economist at the Home Office in London, and the European Central Bank in Frankfurt where he focused on Latin America.

     

  • Ed graduated with an MSc in Economics from Southampton University and a BSc in Economics from The University of Birmingham. He is also an alumnus of the London School of Economics.
