Mardie Menke, Community Emergency Response Team Coordinator (CERT) for the Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HCOHSEM), providing public safety training and education throughout the community to the nation’s 3rd populace county.
Responsible in organizing CERT Classes, train the trainer for First Responders, teaching and recruiting CERT members to volunteer projects and activations, along with promoting the different component of the Harris County Citizen Corps. As well as CERT Animal Response Training.
Involved with the CERT volunteer Search and Rescue Project with Harris County Sheriff Office. Provides support to Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) in Harris County, and the Medical Reserve Corps,
Served under Command Staff during the 2005 Katrina Sheltering Operations at Reliant Park in Houston and 2008 Hurricane Ike at Transtar.
Serving as Committee Chair for the 2017, 13th Annual CERT Rodeo Round Up at the Harris County Fire Marshal’s and Sheriff Training Academy.
An active member for the past 7 years in the National Weather Service Hurricane Workshop Committee.
She is based at the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office in Humble, Texas.
She is a Crisis Chaplain for Harris County ESD48 Fire Department in Katy and
Harris County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Chaplain Ride-Along Program.
