Welcome to the first International Festival for Business 2016 Partner newsletter. 

We are delighted to bring you a series of monthly newsletters that will feature the latest news and announcements related to IFB2016, useful case studies of businesses that benefitted from engagement with IFB2014 and updates on the events programme and key speakers. Additionally, they’ll include relevant blogs and information on the business services and support available to IFB2016 Business Club members.

  WHAT IS IFB2016?
     
The International Festival for Business 2016 is the world’s largest business festival - a global marketplace for creating connections and doing deals. 

IFB2016 takes place from 13th June to 1st July next year and will be attended by more than 30,000 UK and international delegates from key regions around the world. It will feature more than 70 national and international conferences and events. 

Thousands of businesses are expected to gather in host city Liverpool for three weeks of networking and deal-making. The Government-backed festival will feature activity clustered around three themes: manufacturing, energy and environment and creative and digital. 

IFB2016 is supported by the UK government, main partner HSBC, media partners The Times, The Sunday Times and Bloomberg as well as festival supporters: Arup, DLA Piper, DONG Energy, Heathrow, PwC, Siemens and Virgin Trains. 

Since IFB2014, £280million worth of deals have been struck and much more is expected as a result of IFB2016.

IFB2016 offers a range of opportunities, both formal and informal, for businesses to network and connect with one another. Among the most significant are the Business Club, Business Advisory Service and Meet the Buyer. 

The Meet the Buyer programme alone will see 6,000 face-to-face meetings organised by the IFB2016 team on behalf of businesses looking to buy and sell goods and services. These will be high quality and qualified appointments. 

The Business Advisory Service is an opportunity for delegates to ‘Meet the Specialist Advisor’ for a free one to one appointment with leading industry specialists. 

This activity sits right at the heart of the festival and is a core part of IFB2016’s ambition, delivering business opportunities, new customers, growth and enhanced prospects for SMEs both in the UK and further afield.

  FIRST AMBASSADORS ANNOUNCED
     
We are pleased to announce the first IFB2016 ambassadors. These six prominent entrepreneurs and leaders within Britain’s business community have pledged their support for the festival and will play a crucial role in ensuring the legacy and impact of IFB2016.

  ANNOUNCEMENT - INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS
     
British American Business (BAB) and the British-American Business Council (BABC) are delighted to partner with the International Festival for Business in 2016. 

BAB is the leading transatlantic business organisation, headquartered in London and New York City and dedicated to helping its member companies build their international business. The BABC is the largest transatlantic business network, with chapters in more than 20 major business centres throughout the US and UK. 

Together with the BABC, BAB will be at the forefront of promoting and supporting a successful conclusion of the transatlantic trade and investment partnership (TTIP) agreement and its implementation. The International Festival for Business in 2016 will be a fantastic platform to make and strengthen the business connections that help to take advantage of a new TTIP trade and investment reality across the Atlantic.

IFB2016 is underpinned by an extensive marketing and communications campaign, which has been rolled out to a wide range of UK and international business audiences. The advertising campaign is valued at £1.7m and is supplemented by PR, digital, social media and a series of promotional events.
